The Secret of Oki Island is a 5e solo adventure of swashbuckling action, open seas, and hidden treasure set in a world as whimsical as it is deadly.

A simple journey quickly becomes a search for a mysterious treasure with a motley crew of scallywags and scoundrels.

Through strength, skill, or charm you will have to survive the open seas alongside the pirates aboard The Rapier Wit and unravel the mystery of the egg that has chosen you to carry it home to a fabled fortune.

Search the wide blue horizon for Oki Island and the riches it contains. But don't forget to get into some trouble along the way. The pirate's life is nothing if not exciting.

Pick your own path. Play your own 5e character. No DM, maps, or minis required.

We are making this for you if you want more of your favorite TTRPG and would rather play than DM yourself in the downtime between sessions. The Secret of Oki Island is designed for characters between levels 1 to 4.

  •  Play your own 5e character. Made however you usually make one. The story is crafted so that all characters can succeed - or fail.
  •  Take your own path through an interactive story where your decisions have consequences.
  •  Fight monsters, cast spells, and find treasure within an original story.
  •  Make progress with loot and experience that you keep in a regular tabletop game.

  • Explore islands, fight scoundrels, find treasures.

Go on an epic journey to explore pirate towns and legendary islands. Swashbuckle your way through fights big and bigger to discover the untold riches every pirate hopes for.

  • Meet a motley crue of characters

Travel the seas with assorted sailors and scoundrels. Will they help you or hinder you on your quest for The Secret of Oki Island?

  • What Is a Solo 5e Adventure?

A solo 5e adventure is a single-person interactive story that uses the game mechanics of Dungeons & Dragons: 5th Edition.

Create your own character to play as the hero of an original story:

    • Play your own 5e character made however you usually make one. The story is crafted so that all characters can succeed - or fail.
    • Take your own path through an interactive story where your decisions have consequences.
    • Fight monsters, cast spells, and find treasure. Make progress with loot and experience that you keep in your regular tabletop games.

The experience allows players to be a lone hero solving problems and overcoming challenges without a DM or party.

Each story is designed to work with existing D&D 5e games as either a downtime activity between sessions or a way to add flavor to a new character prior to their appearance.

  • How the Game Works

As you take your journey through this solo adventure, you will have a chance to do all the things you probably love about TTRPGs, including rolling dice and choosing your own path through the adventure.

    • Interact with NPCs and your environment
    • Use your skills and abilities to overcome challenges
    • Cast spells, use magic items, and activate your class features
    • Fight monsters and other evil-doers

All this works by following on-page prompts within the story and applying off-the-page effects to improve your character's chances of success.

The game mechanics will be familiar to anyone playing D&D 5e. From skill checks and saving throws to attack rolls and spell damage, everything about this solo adventure is designed to give you the same thrill as a session at DM's table but whenever you want to play.

Plus, re-play the adventure to explore different options. Every choice you make in this solo adventure has some kind of consequence, so take each new character down their own path.

Great fun when you can't play with others.

Almost great, but the story cannot pick a lane.

I had fun with this adventure, but I found some parts of the story a bit odd and whiplash in some aspects. The story couldn't decide if it wanted to be a Disney Movie or a Serious, Evil Pirate story, and it's overall very linear and railroad, more so than Z'Leth.
Spoilers ahead:
The first couple chapters are bright and fun with a colorful cast of characters, but then comes a mutiny on board the crew, which you can't fully stop. If you stop it at first, there comes a fight that you auto lose and the mutinous crew takes over. The crew then sell off the previous Captain and Passenger, whom it was your job to Bodyguard, away to ransom/slavery without you having a choice to try to stop them. You then board the ship again with the crew of mutineers and it tries to go back to Disney Movie funtime, which felt very forced. Ignoring the ache of whiplash though, the final few chapters of the book are very strong, I had a ton of fun with them.
This book is so close to great that it hurts. I just really wish it handled the middle segment better and stayed in it's Bubbly, fun lane. The Mutiny/Brigand's Bay sequence is just so out of character for the book that it leaves a bad taste for the, otherwise great, rest of the book. They even try to pull a cop-out "The people you sold to slavery actually got rescued and formed their own crew!" silly ending which just highlights how out of place the grim Brigand's Bay section was. A serious rework of that story aspect could turn this whole book 5 stars.

Forced to be evil.

(Spoilers) About one chapter after you start as a security guard, you're kidnapped by pirates. Then you're expected to side with those pirates, who are increasingly revealed to be greedy, backstabbing cowards. Horrible traits to force onto a player, who's allegedly playing a good person!

Good game

My character is a pirate captain ,so to get under another captain was a bit weird but ,allowable good story. I did feel that there was more to explore with the other stories.

Fantastic customer service

I made a mistake buying the wrong game but OM staff sorted me out in next to no time.
Ice not played Oki yet but had a read through the opening few choices and like Langston before it, it entices you in and paints a glorious vista of a world for you to explore, I can't wait to start it properly!
