A lot of fun rubbing this as a family

Great Run

A great run for newcomers or seasoned players looking to scratch that itch.

This was a lot of fun, for a party module it’s honestly pretty simplistic. I would recommend it for a first time dm. I think it’s not as good as the solo player version, but still good.

Great adventure!

I played through the solo adventure, and then bought the party module to DM for some other players. It was so easy to prepare for because I had already been through it myself! It was fun to see the decisions the players made that were different from mine.

Loved the solo adventure, party version leaves alot to be desired

I first bought the solo adventure version which was fun little romp around langston, investigating and rolling and running simple combats.

However, the structure of this as a party adventure leaves alot to be desired for DM's and players alike.

This is scoped as a murder mystery adventure. But you have to dig around the book for even the most basic details like: when did this person die. Is there a crimescene. who was the first person to find the body, etc.
There are questions which the players could and should be able to ask anyone but for some reason locked behind specific chapters sections following a persuasion check or something else.
But they are basic details!

This made for quite a frustrating party experience where I had to scan around multiple pages of the book to find out when the person died.

Additionally, simple things like the random rumour's table are far in the back of the book. It's great that there are quick links, but using it on a computer makes for a painful experience going back to the early pages.

Finally, the structure of the funeral scene, which works fine in a single party adventure is incredibly jarring when 4 people get up to make speech's. It also relies on the characters you meet making their way back into the bar.

Like I said I really enjoyed the solo adventure. but the party adventure needs to frontload the commonly known information about the crime at the start of the book and instruct DM to dripfeed to players when they ask. There should be a literal FAQ. Also, some non-important NPC names would also be a godsend.
